You have decided to pursue a career in nursing. What’s next? Depending on where you stand in your education and career, you will have to find a nursing school to get trained. If you want to complete formal training, you have to enroll for Bachelors of Science in nursing, which is a four-year program. However, for students who already have completed their bachelor degree in another branch, they have to go for what’s called an accelerated program. Why consider ABSN programs?
If you already have completed your Bachelor’s degree in another branch, an accelerated BSN program is the best shot you have at becoming a nurse. You don’t have to repeat an extensive four-year coursework and can become a nurse in less than two years. Accelerated BSN programs don’t have to be very expensive, but the fee for the same depend vary from one nursing school to another. You can expect to pay anywhere around $40,000 or above. The course duration is usually between 11 and 18 months, but if you have a non-science degree, you may have to complete other courses and prerequisites. All accelerated nursing programs have the same course contents, where you will be covering a whole range of subjects related to clinical nursing.
